  1. #1 Stable Win7 64bit NVIDIA Quadro drivers for Premiere Pro CS6
What drivers is everyone using when working with a Windows 7 (64bit) Quadro setup and PPRO CS6?

I've gone through a few, from 296.70 (latest) and 276.14 (latest available recommended CS5 drivers) but I am getting constant system-wide crashes when using those with either a Quadro 4000 or 2000. 296.70 seems to allow me the most working time between crashes (about 30-40 minutes max).

Yeah, it's pretty lame that you have to spend hours and hours on the nVidia and EVGA forums to 'try' to find a stable driver for nVidia (that doesn't have memory leaks or will even install)

I wish they would stop developing new cards, and focus on offering stable drivers for sale at an outrageous price.

I thought that was only the 'consumer' cards that had issues, but ... looks like the same programmers are working on both 'consumer' and 'pro' card drivers.

Thanks, Simon - 276.42 appears to be stable for me now. I've noticed something peculiar though - if I'm using the NVIDIA SDI board to output to my second monitor, it makes Premiere a lot less stable. Once I've disabled the SDI output, everything appears solid (I'm getting weird horizontal tearing in the preview monitor via SDI as well). Not the most optimal solution, but working for now.

27614 is working without problems on a Windows 7 (64bit) w/ Quadro 4000 and PPRO CS6 for us.

I was just about to write a reply when I saw your post... yes the mercury transmit driver (or my improper handling of it) was the source of the problem. Once I set up the SDI output correctly (disabled in the NVIDIA panel) and installed the mercury transmit drivers, everything works like a charm - rock solid output via SDI with no tearing, and overall solid system stability.

Cool - now you should be working smoothly. With the Mercury transmit driver installed, i'd be interested to hear if you can install the latest cuda driver for the quadro to see if that works without causing issues.....?

As soon as I'm finished with a project that's being edited on the workstation (due to client next week), I'll give the new drivers a try.
