Hey Everyone, I'm a new Epic owner and had a quick question: is there a way to save the .r3d files all in one folder on the card? I know that it splits it up into folders because some recordings go over the file size limit, but I end up manually dragging all the files into one folder later on anyway.

    Thanks for the help.

It does save them in one magazine folder. The sub-folders are for clips. You don't want to be going in and messing with the file structure because you are only creating problems and more work for yourself. May I ask why you want to do this?

Hey Doug, thanks for the reply. I actually just did a test importing them into premiere and it works great. I thought that having 1 file per folder was going to make it a pain to import and organize, but premiere seems to manage the red folder structure just fine. Thanks much!

As Doug says, you should backup Red footage retaining the file/folder structure the camera writes to the media. This is important in most of the applications that work with Red files, and is crucial if you are intending to relink to the original RAW R3D files at any time in the future, or if you are handing off files to a client or another post production facility.
