After migrating from one NLE to another over the last 3 years searching for the best solution for my RED workflow I ended up with the one I used to hate the most.. Premiere Pro. What a transformation this NLE had lately! The fastest, smoothest experience and the one that allows you to keep RAW power until the very end.

Premiere Pro. It is hands down the best and easiest way to work with RED footage.

And I say that having started on Avid back in 1991 and also having jumped off the FCP bandwagon after the Apple IMovieStudioPro debacle.

I think I made the poll able to choose multiple systems? I should have added an "other" choice though :-(

I see we have a pretty good balance of insights from people, all very valid.

The landslide vote seems to be in favor of Premiere. I do agree with the argument of Avid's foothold in the professional environment and even the usefulness of Final Cut Pro X.

One other thing I would LOVE to hear about is for Adobe Premiere users to tell about their businesses and what their market is. Network TV vs boutique post house? Corporate videos vs weddings and events? Narrative features and indie shorts?

Premiere CS6 for corporate videos and short films. I jumped from Vegas and don't regret it.

FCP7 -to - FPX if/when they recognize R3D... clock is ticking tho.

Lightworks Pro ($60) and free version is available, as of tonight. Martin Scorsese seems to like it, even for 3D. I'm switching from Vegas for my indie projects. http://www.lwks.com

    Paul Russell,

As a long time Vegas user, I was wondering what your reasons were for jumping from Vegas to Premiere. Has it been the increased instability in version 11? I'm a long time Vegas user and currently edit all our Red projects with it. That being said, I've heard a lot of good things about Premiere 6, and want to buy it and learn it too. What has been your experience so far? I've dabbled in After Effects a bit and found the interface to be unintuitive (compared to Vegas), and render times to be terrible. That being said, Adobe has seemingly upped their game recently with Premiere and I need to expand my ability to Adobe's tools... and overcome the learning curve.

It's sad to see the Vegas wasn't even listed as an option on this poll. Vegas has edited r3d files directly on the timeline far longer than any other NLE.
