To me instability across the board on CS6 in the current build is still not at all ready for deadline work. Maybe if I were Adobe I would have waited a bit before release because to me it's at the level of near-release beta software, not something I would feel is ready to sell as a professional tool.

CS5.5 was/is AWESOME. CS6 crashes once an hour or more, and I really can't deal with that level of headache.

We are working on several Mac Pro towers.

    Anyone agree?

Is the PC release more stable?

I dont agree based on my Mac Pro experience. Your problems sound systemic. Ive been using CS6 on my system for 6 months (see below) and have had a few crashes, which is expected with beta software. Currently Im running 6.01 with solid stability when using PrP and AE together.

I'm not getting many crashes on CS6, but am chasing a couple of weird AE bugs with R3Ds that I can't quite explain.

    Rob,

On PC, I have not had one crash with Premiere or AE CS6. On the otherhand, Speedgrade is another story.

l should have have specified - AE is the problem here too, also with R3Ds.

My new laptop I swear is faster and smoother to work on than my tower !... no crashes at all with the lappy... Tower I get crashes...

I think TOWERS are way past there use by dates.... Especially when a laptop can perform as well as it.

I think my TOWER will only stay because it has red rocket in it... other than that, I'm so close to kicking it out the door.

After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop CS6 + r3d = no problems, no crashes at all. Love the new features and GUI tweaks.

    Mark,

Have you tried Speedgrade with your system? Any crashes or flicking on rendered files? So far, everything else is great.

Interesting. I haven't had any issues with CS6 so far. Only Speedgrade thing I run into is it sometimes closes incorrectly and leaves a process hanging around. I'm using this on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC and an MSI Laptop.
