Mix and Match RED/x Rail Components

Trying to plan a Scarlet rig on paper, was hoping someone might have a answer for me.

I'm planning on using 15mm LW rods, but don't need (or want to spend the money) on the RED Quick Release plate. I would like to use the WC Easy Riser so I could connect that directly to my tripod plate. However (and I know this is picky) the kippers/wingbolts seem too large for me. So here are my questions:

Has anyone ever:

1. Replaced the knobs on the WC 15LW Bracket?

2. Tried attaching the RED 15mm LW bracket equivalent from the Modular Assualt Pack to the WC Easy Plate?

Bonus Question: tried interfacing the RED Rib Cage/Top Plate with the WC Easy Plate.

Hey Jordan,

Not sure this answers your bonus question, but I think you're asking about combining the Red Tactical top plate with the WC Easy Riser?

If you are, be warned you won't be able to use ribs with a mix of RED and WC / Viewfactor Top/Bottom plates. I have the RED tactical top / WC bottom (Easy Riser) and bought the WC side plate. It didn't quite reach. There's about 1.5mm in it and you'd have to force it to make it reach. Ryan at (WC) told me that it wouldn't work.

Due to the size/width of the side plate however, I was able to angle it and make a solid, tension-free attachment between the top and bottom. Not perfect, but totally serviceable.

Thanks, Mondo, that definitely answers the bonus question for me. I really didn't expect the ribs to work between the RED top plate and WC Easy Riser on the bottom, but had to ask!

Does anyone have experience with Question 1 or 2? Swapping the knobs on the WC 15MM bracket or mounting the equivalent RED bracket to the WC Easy Riser?
