This is one of my favorite lenses...the famed "Hollywood", because of its cinema-inspired design. Has a floating element that gives it great close focusing ability....and an amazing, pebbly bokeh. GREAT for fashion and wide-angle portraits.

    Just sayin'

Zeiss Contax are my favorite lens, i was trying to convert to PL but some reason the optician couldn't do it. He said the mechanism for controlling the f-stop is different then other lens. When he tried to put his own design and he just got 10 degree movement for f-stops which is not enough.

Sorry it is 20-100, i have to change my signature. I shot i short movie on this, i really like it and got to on ebay on a very cheap price. No one will believe how much i paid for this lens. After receiving sent to Cooke for service and they said it is as good as new. Last month i sent this to for my rental house in NEPAL.

Why don't you just use the All Star mount? Their adapters allow you to use Contax Lenses essentially like PL glass...within a system that accepts PL mount, Oct-19 and other mounts seamlessly. Its pretty cool.

Or you can just get a C/Y adapter and use them on the EOS mount on Scarlet/Epic.

    For whatever it's worth...

Nick, you should get to know Omkar. Living so close and sharing a love for Contax lenses you have so much in common . . .

You make a good point...Omkar, me and Ryan de Franco should all hang! I can introduce them to all my other Contax nut job friends in the city (another 4 dudes).

That being said...looks like Im shooting with Leica R's this weekend...secretly kinda stoked.

Hi Nick, Yes i had the Allstar mount for may RED for a long time. Actually i was one of the first buyer Allstar mount, i had the all-star mount even before RED approved it. Since i bought the all PL lenses i am trying to stay on PL only. All of my camera are in Nepal and busy feature shoot, so i felt it is a wise decision to stay PL.
    JOSH i like the idea.
