Ok guys, at work we have been slow to upgrade our Mac Pro suites due to ongoing long term edits. We are finally in a position to move some away from FCP and have a couple of avid Symphony licenses come in on the cross grade program, and Adobe suites as the bread and butter of two in house Motion graphics guys so will be running Premiere as well. Also want to look at Resolve as a grading option.

I currently have a Mac Pro 2008 system with 16 gig of Ram, but it's only got a lowerspec ATI graphics card, and an IO express box that I would be happy to swapto another system and get a suitable decklink card for Resolve. With Lion reportedly opening up more driver options for Nvidia I really want to figure out the best graphics cards, or graphics cards combos for running this as a multi purpose box, with Symphony, Resolve and Premiere/After Effects.

We still do a mix of HD and SD work so I am not looking for this to be best in class right now, just want to get two cost effective graphics cards (thinking I'll be needing two for Resolve) that will get the box to fighting weight for HD and SD finishing, or at least so the three different suites are usable so I can test and learn new workflows while we decide which way to jump for a more permanent upgrade (like when hopefully new Mac Pro's hit soon)

Any thoughts would be most appreciated
