Right click on the application itself and you access at the hidden directory where you can find the two files. The location are in the redepic_importer_install_cs6.pdf file.
    For Premiere Mac :

    *For the ImporterREDServer.app :
    *Applications/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.app/Contents/
    *
    For the ImporterRED.bundle
    *Applications/Adobe Premiere*Pro CS6/Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.app/Contents/Plug-*‐ins/Common/

There are probably to many informations on the pdf. Just be sure to place the 2 files at the right place. Of course, an auto installer should be better, but I prefer to do it manually than to wait 1 or 2 monthes more just for such an easy installation

This won't work for upgrading Speedgrade?

Our Kickstarter campaign was a Staff Pick! We were also Featured on Kickstarter's home page and we won Indiewire's Project of the Week with over 70% of the total votes. Our campaign was very successful. The fundraising continues.

    Hi Adobe Team,

I have a problem with the Red Epic importer and audio.
I did a long interview (2 camera 4KHD each at 12:1) with 2 audio. The timeline is a bit long (50 minutes), and I can't play smoothly the video. I fisrt tough it was the hard drive speed but even on an SSD, it is the same. The problem in fact is in the audio. I export all the audio of the timeline in wav, then reimport it and dont use anymore the sound of the R3D, and i is working perfectly !

Now, before editinjg, I convert audio from the R3D in AME then use this wav audio for the editing, not the sound of the R3D file.

Some audio conversion in AME are very very lmong and others are ultra fast. I don't know why. I think there is something wrong very the audio and the importer.

Are you on a Mac or PC?

Doe you have an nVidia card to accelerate?

I am on PC now but I saw exactly the same problem with my Mac and CS6. I did not pay a lot of attention on the Mac, but on the PC, the editing is very difficult with the sound stopping every 4 or 6 secondes after hitting "play".

The new labs patch removed coforming audio for R3D files. I haven't seen these issues on a beefy workstation - and am wondering if this is performance related. When you're playing back the files, are your procs maxed at 100%? if you reduce resolution to 1/8 does the audio work better?
Maybe list some machine specs, etc and we can go from there.

    Hi Wes,

No, the proc aren't very busy at all. It is the same in 1/2 or 1/4 res (not 1/8 because my timeline is 1080p). Just change the audio file from the original r"d audio with wav converted audio from the same r3d and all is going well : perfect in 1/2 and even 1 with some frames lost. Then the maximum power is at the maximum.

I use AME for converting the r3d audio to wav, and i noticed that the conversion was very very slow on some r3d file (about 30 minutes for 30 minutes rush, and on other file, it is 3 or 4 minutes for the same rush duration) and the proc is at 3 or 4% only !! It seems that the power of the cores can't be used on some audio embeded with r3d. I can put a video if i am not clear.

    Best regards,

    Olivier

    Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the additional info. The video was useful - thanks.
I am suspecting that this may be related to the Black Magic card / drivers. If you can answer a couple more questions I'll be happy to log a bug for you.

What BlackMagic device are you using for monitoring?
Does the audio issue occur simply playing back one stream of RED?
Does it occur if you play the RED file in a Natvie (4k,5k) Timeline?
Lastly, have you tried it without using the BlackMagic hardware?

Feel free to PM me or e-mail me at whowell at Adobe if you'd like. (might avoid clutter on the forums too)
