You got a 35mm Squarefront now?

As far as I've seen (and others may want to correct me!), I don't think a diopter was made for the 35mm. You can use standard diopters (I think Nick mentioned this on another thread).

Something to note is there are a few types of diopter made for different Squarefront types. The Foton-A has it's own 'slip on' diopters that don't fit anything else. The 50/75mm OCT-18 style attachment has a set fo diopters for it that sllide on and are tightened by large silver side screws. The 50mm OCT-19 one piece style (70's/80/s) has 4 holes at the corners - this receives the guide pins on Squarefront diopters made for this lens. The 80mm of this style (70's/80/s) doesn't have these holes so I don't know if any other solutions were made.

There's also 1960's style Squarefronts - these have a rounded bevel edge that leads into the barrels (so, in profile, they're not as 'Square' as later models). Again no idea on diopters for these... perhaps Olex or someone will know more.

Hi!, I have never seen for sale diopters for NAS square front. I am using the FOTON-A diopter for my 35mm BAS10-2. This diopter is also rare but last year i have seen 2 at ebay from $600 to $900. The FOTON-A 1meter diopter has a 12x9cm glass and with BAS10-2 I get focus from 40 to 75cm, so is a macro scale. I get sharp and clear images. It is not the ideal but... works!. Here you have a photo.

These are the Diopters that I have for my Squarefronts (OCT-19 70's style - they fit the 50mm). I got mine a few years back ($100 for my set) - as I post with 4 days to go, the Ebay ones are at $710... so they'll go for more.

Anyway, just thought I'd post as others may be interested and have missed them (as they're not listed as diopters).

Yes - and the $100 was including postage too :)

It was 2010 - long before the crazy Xmas 2010 'rush' on diopters caused by some DSLR anamorphic homebrew shooter. I remember Rafcamera used to actually have stock of the Foton diopters that he couldn't sell (sounds mad now, I know!) - and these jumped from $130 to over $1000 within hours (some even went for $2000!).

The trouble with theses spikes, whilst good to make a profit on, is they inflate the base prices - so, when things return to a more normal place (after the frenzy dies down), you find a $100 item is now a $500 item.

Same thing has happened recently with both Round and Squarefronts... although the market seems to have settled down again now and prices look to be lower.
