Just filmed about 60 takes. All where ok, except two of them. They had lost frames (I could see the actor jump), but audio was clean and had no glitches, which resulted in the audio being out of synch behind the video. There where no artifacts or anything, just a couple of frames lost.

Has anyone noticed something like this?

I don't have access to original RED mags so I can't check, but could this be a result from me viewing the footage on the computer harddrive through Redcine, WHILE downloading to the computer (before the footage was finished downloading)? Has anyone seen something like this?

I´m using the first firmware, which enabled phantom power. Can't remember the version.

    Thanx!

Sounds a bit like the problem Phillip Bloom had with his EpicM back-in-the-day

The initial upgrade procedure released to upgrade 3.0.0 to 3.2.8 did not fully reset the camera to it's default settings. You may want to restore to factory defaults.

Also, if running 3.0.0 or before, please check your sync settings to make sure the camera is set up in a valid correct sync configuration for your setup.

Difference between my faulty two takes and that EpicM problem on the link, is that this was not consistent. And it didn't just drop a single frame, but jumpes, maybe 10 frames. I could see the jump. It happened twice in every clip. But I was recording sound onto the Scarlet itself, and there was no glitch there.

I will try to factory reset. And I need t check the original file before I return to this thread.

Is there a log file on the mag, which tells of dropped frames?

I don't want leave this thread hanging....so I have an update:

    UPDATE, weeks later:

I have since done the RESET DEFAULT SETTINGS, and gone back to 3.0.7 and forward again to 3.2.16 and have run several tests. When I first encountered the errors, there where approx. 60 takes with 2 faulty takes. I have since tried to force these errors, and have run 80 takes where I´ve stressed the camera, running hot, and not stopping between takes.I ran a moving test pattern with audio synch to see if I could force this bug to appear. But I haven't seen anything yet. I've done two interviews with audio on the Scarlet, and have seen nothing.

So it all looks good. I will update this thread again, if I see anything. If not....then all good...everyone's happy! :)

BTW: I love the new EVF!!!!
