Why not just post the link to what you're talking about? I still have no idea what "post number 6" is.

Elsie, your posts are coming up fine. Thanks for doing the research. The other posters are simply not reading.

Yes the adobe labs install is a PITA. But it is beta and it does work. Yes you need to install the two plugins to EACH program directory where you want to be able to access RED EPIC/Scarlet footage: premiere, AE, encore, prelude, AME. 5 in total.

Whew! Thanks for confirmation Cory. For a moment there I thought I was losing opacity.

Does anyone have any idea why we need to install these tiny files separately, and they aren't just included in the Adobe updates like Camera Raw additions for Photoshop? Seems a bit silly to me, and I can't think of a practical reason to make us run around like this.

Elsie, sorry for the confusion. I understand now. I was confused because within the "Installing RED EPIC Importer with Creative Suite 6" link it says, "Follow the installation instructions located in
the ‘Release Notes’ section." There are no "Release Notes" that I could find.

Adobe really could have done a better job of putting the plug in and installation instructions together. I guess it's harder for them to confuse someone like me who doesn't pay close attention and follow their instructions too closely. '-)

Anyway, glad you found necessary info.

It's beta software, not meant for the general public (whomever that might be). The adobe labs guys are probably the elite developers at adobe who are working on new stuff and give us access to it quickly. Yes they could have made a nice installer, but they might not have the staff to devote to the niceties like installers and support when their job function is to start incorporating the new technology. Be grateful you have access to it at all! They could have kept it underwraps until CS7, instead we now have Epic/Scarlet RC3/RG3 in adobe so shortly it came out. When it is ready for the general public it will be included in the normal update/install procedures.
