What threading are the screws on the Kipp handles of Element Technica hybrid baseplates? Those things are huge monsters I want to replace them out with smaller profile handles, but need a threading size IF ANYONE KNOWS...

(I already called ET but they didn't know off hand)

Ok, I figured it out. It's the same threading size as the 8MM RED handles, so I'll just replace with those. Thanks!

So the RED Wingnut 8mm's work? I think I"ll order some. . . The thing with this baseplate (which is on all our cams) is that their wingnuts actually extend below the base, so if you set the camera down on a flat surface for whatever reason, the weight is actually on those winguts. I think that issue, combined with the fact that as you mention Yousuf they're so big, AC's have the tendency to sometimes really torque on them - we've had two of them get stripped in the past few months.

Me thinks I'll order a couple packs of the small red 8mm ones.

    cheers

Order the 12mm wingnuts instead of the 8mm (I tried the 8mm, and although they work, the 12mm are longer and are better suited for the Baseplate). Same threading on both (which is called "M4" thread).
