Did a quicktime proxy workflow, creating proxy 422 files for fcp, edited with them, exported an xml to get back to red cine, did my base grade, now I want to export prores 444 files and re link in my fcp timeline.

I have mattes and keyframes and such on my proxy clips, so i dont want to make a new timeline, i want to re link my new clips in place of my old ones.

So heres what I did for the first half. Exported proress 444 files as a bin all to one folder, names set to create unique if taken. This put all my clips in one folder, but added an s000 -> s0001 and so forth to all clips that shared a name, ie came from the same take. This meant that when i re linked in final cut, any file with an s00x suffix could not be found because it did not share the original clip name, only the first would re link as it did not have a suffix. I manually relinked everything. It took forever.

So now for the 2nd half im trying to avoid manual relinking, I did everything the same as before getting out of red cine except this time i had red cine create subfolders for each file so the actual movie files would never recieve a name change, thus preserving the ability for fcp to re link to them based on name and timecode. It appears I was wrong, because now fcp wont automatically re link at all, whenever i try it gives me the bloop noise. It will only relink if i do it manually. Is there something i'm doing wrong? Is this workflow even possible without manually re linking? and help or advise would really be appreciated.
