Got the email. Looking forward to the installation. While I'm never thrilled to have to crack open something like an Epic, the risk/reward is an easy plus here. Can't wait. Thanks for the free fix.

Unless I see a posted email, get an email or see a post from Jarred or the likes...I'm tending to think this is a late April fools...would be great if not though...would move the redmote from trinkety to a solid useful reliable tool!
This IS customer service!! Thank you.
It also may be a batch thing. Send out email to maybe 500 at a time so they are not crushed by emails to get the new part. I did get the email yesterday morning and responded right away.
Watched the video. This seems easy enough, so I sent in request for antennae.
Yes- I think it is happening in batches. I just wanted to let people know that RED has started the process. I didn't post the video link or other info because it is password protected and who knows the process could change before you get your email. I just thought it would give some peace of mind to those waiting on a fix.
No, I'm saying another company would say it's not a problem, that it was designed to only work within 5 feet of the camera, and that a small percentage of users may want to go further so they are offering a premium antenna for several hundred for the "true professional."
When RED gave me a free upgrade on my R1 audio board they had already clearly stated that they saw in-built audio recording as a scratch track for dual recording, but they still improved it and gave it to me free, including free shipping.
I don't think I could name another company that would do this and and am very grateful and will stay that way.
