Last night I discovered that the LCD screen on top of my side handle is no longer displaying any info (no text, icons or characters). The screen is lit up and seems to be operating normally in other respects, just no text or characters.

I received my side handle about 3-4 weeks ago and have only used it once - so it's virtually brand new and unused...

It was tested on another Epic body to ensure the problem was isolated to the side handle; I was able to duplicate problem.

    Anyone experience this?

I've already filled out a support ticket and emailed my rep.

Any insight / experience with this would be appreciated.

I just had the same thing happen after less than a week and very little use.
    Any update on the cause/repair?
    Thanks

I got this email from Red Support. At the time (6-11) I had all current firmware and software on my camera.
Performing system restore etc.. didn't work. I was able to isolate the problem to the side handle (I tried it on 3 other Epic Body's... same issue).
I think I'm going to have to send it in.

"Thank you for contacting RED SUPPORT. Can you please confirm the current
firmware version installed on your camera? Did the DSMC Side Handle work
correctly on the other cameras? Have you gone to
settings>maintenance>rediscover while the DSMC Side Handle was attached?
Does performing a system restore and/or reinstalling the latest firmware
version fix this issue? Thanks! "

One more here! And sometimes to push the menu button on the SH freezes the cam (Scarlet).
