I usually get corrupt frames when exporting. Both through the Media Encoder and directly from Premiere. I don't know what causes this, but it seems like this error comes, when the computer has been computing and working with Red files for a while. I usually run with AE and Premiere open, but the error also comes when I´ve been working only in Premiere for a whie. What seems to work, is to export to the render list in Media Encoder, save the list, and restart computer, open Encoder, and start render.

I don't have a screenshot, but the faulty frames look like black and white patterns. Like there are 6 or 8 repetetive patterns. Looks stretched. But unable to see what the material is showing.

I've seen this error even when the project contained a Prores HQ file at the start of the sequence, and this Prores part of the sequence had this error.

    Anyone know this problem.

(I would like to update a picture of the corrupt frames, but don't know how to upload screenshots to the forums)

    Hi Thomas,

We are happy to look into this. Can you share some details on your system, graphics card, memory, etc
Also, are you using the latest updates to PR and the latest RED Epic patch for CS6?

    Wes

Hi Wes. These are my specs:
    Mac Pro 2009
    16 GB ram
    285 GTX
    Mac Hardware Raid
    Scarlet 4K HD footage
No filters on clips. But some of the have zooms. Corrupt frames occur usually from the start of the timeline, which has no effects or transforms.
CS6 with latest patch (Auto update on, so I guess)
Epic importer (manually installed 2 weeks ago)

I've worked with footage which contained ProRes 4444 files at start of timeline, and corrupt frames even occured on that frame.

Take this with a grain of salt, but it seems to me the crash has nothing to do with how long the renders are, but more on if i've been "scrubbing timelines" and editing before doing the export (After Effects and Premiere open at the same time). Even so, it doesn't happen always, but when it starts happeing, it doesn't go away until restart. I've tried different export formats Prores and H264.

Sometimes I can see playback errors which look the same as the export erorr patterns. But this error occurs when player goes to "paused" mode. Start playing, and all is well. I've tried different playback/paused settings, does not fix it.

Thomas, if you have a moment, will you turn off CUDA hardware acceleration and see if you have any better luck?
I've personally seen several users with GTX285 video cards mention similar issues and I'd like to try to narrow this down more.

I'm doing some testing on my end as well.

Feel free to contact me directly at whowell at adobe
