So I wanted to hear how folks that own the Sandy Bridge E single processor systems are doing when cutting and exporting Red / Epic projects. The cost is about half of the one above. Thanks!

we cannot blame Adobe, but off course, it would be nice if they could test themselves for us,
as they might have the gear and money to do this, and share these tests to let us know what we could expect exactly from different setups, depending on how many money you can spent, and how much it does makes sense for you.
After all the forum reading , it's still not obvious for some which way to go..

Also , it's not possible at your vendor's store to try these things out, as they mostly never have such equipment in their racks.
2x Red Epic, audio and image postproduction in Antwerp. 2x recording studio with 5.1 surround.

What is the purpose of getting the Quadro over say a gtx670?
And Curious why you went with 4 x WD 500gB blues?
    No SSD anywhere?

    1. I got the Q4000 AND the Tesla 2075 for enhanced performance in PrP and After Effects. Google Nvidia Maximus for more details. Quadros are designed more for hard use and durability as opposed to the gamer GTX series according to users in the field Ive spoken to.

    2. Drive 1-System Drive-2 Clone Drive 3-AE Global Disk Cache Disk 4 - All "movies" are exported to from PrP and AE

    3. Price and storage size make SSD something I am not interested in.

Media is located on the 8TB raid array.
