Desperately Seeking Sergy

Last week I spoke with an optics guy in Russia who has known Sergey for many years. He thinks Sergey must have gone to his country house for vacation under the assumption that the lenses he sent to people must have arrived safely. If that's the case, it could account for his cell phone blocking calls as those rural places tend not to have cell phone reception. Maybe, he shut it off so that those calling would know he wasn't able to receive calls. This is the exact time of year that Russians go to their "dachas". Let's hope.

Thanks for your kind words. However; The shipping details were nothing less than garbage and not traceable by any postal / shipping service.
That was about the last words from him. Since then nothing. Thats now 8+ weeks!!
Frankly; I think anybody who sells regularly through forums should have a strong backup service connection. The Angst that occurs to anybody who has sent money across the world for kit in Pennies or Many thousands is the same, a gut wrenching sleepless nights problem when nothing, literally, happens to give comfort to the bad thoughts that prevail.
I have back up and believe in all sincerity that it is a responsible way forwards for any Dealer / Reseller or more.
I do not consider anybody who goes "off air" and disappears so completely so to speak is a responsible person. Remember; He is enjoying others hard earned money and is this a correct way forwards?

Hi Tony,
Please don't take what I posted as a justification for what's happened. I only offer a possible explanation hoping you won't have that sick feeling in the stomach. There are posts on this and other threads that indicate this is a pattern (of course not a good one) with Sergey that so far has always resolved well in the end.

Really, it meant to encourage. I am sorry that it did not.

The issue remains the same as the people concerned are duped so to say..... Whether its a Torrey or a Sergey.We are all in the same boat,and thats what yunus is trying to say high time reduser took some steps to protect people like us rather than just close threads.its not an attempt to cloud the thread.

I don't know how sergey could possibly have posted my lenses, he never even asked for my postal address. He just told me he had sent them!!!

I do not think that of your words at all, and if it sounded so, then I apologise for that.
I appreciate your taking the time to write to me. It did encourage us here just knowing that we are not totally alone on this.

I do appreciate your consideration and Thankyou for answering. We / I are justifyably anxious at the moment and so Apologise if you thought I was flippant.
I have come across many weird happenings in this Industry in 50 years but never where support is forthcoming for anybody who leaves you literally gasping with increduality at the actions on a sale of a blank nothing.
Keep letting us know, somewhere the answer lies waiting.

I got an email from him about 5 days ago (june 19th) saying he was in the hospital after a bike crash, and thats why it took so long for him to get back to a message I sent two months ago. My original email was inquiring about his current stock, and he replied eager to sell me some lenses.

A guy called Milan K Shrestha wrote me and says he bought a Tokina Lens such as this from Sergey and his "Brother" ? Evgeny Bunyaev. [New name?] He paid, and as yet has not had any word or received the lens.

Interestingly Sergy is selling a lens just like this one on DVXuser right now.
New email addresses as well.
