On a side note, I am sure Red will take care of this, they have been nothing but wonderful since we bought the camera.

in any case,
Chris, please let us know how the issue will be resolved,
thx
Just for clarity's sake, was the camera plugged into the wall (black shading or something) when the power surge happened? If so it's obviously either the power adapter itself or the camera (power board) that's janked up... And seeing as how the camera isn't powering up via batteries, it's likely the camera (unless your batteries are all dead.)

OK SO talked to Red today, sending the little guy in to get checked out. to clarify, I plugged the camera into the wall and that's when it happened. small click sound and the green led on the a/c flickered and went out. I know some of you are all pro "Red doesn't help anyone" so I think this will be a good test. If they don't, i'm out $ and that sucks. If they do, then they lived up to their word on the warranty. I'll keep you all updated as promised.
Why wouldn't the warranty cover it? You're still in the first year...
Second update: Camera Does work with side handle, WHEW. Seems to be just the rear port went out.
