Does anyone know if the latest beta build allows you to trigger a samurai by hitting the run button without media in the camera!? Cheers

Not tested with the samurai but latest beta build does include the external record mode that allows HD-SDI REC trigger when selected and the camera has no SSD media... HTH

Spot on, thanks Mikael. Thought I'd seen it in the beta menu and advised a colleague about it but wanted to double check.

Just tested it with Scarlet 3.2.16 and Samurai 3.0 Firmware. SDI at 1080 25p. Start trigger worked. Stop trigger didn't.

Would this be a Samurai-based issue or a RED-based issue? Also can anyone else confirm whether this happens often or rarely?

Just checked again, if I also record on SSD it works (starts and stops), but in ext only mode recording on Samurai doesn't stop and I have to shut down the scarlet by pressing the power button 5 secs - good old pc style - because it won't come out of recording mode.

Had this same prob with new build on my PIX240 as well - but was intermittent so not sure it is how I have set up the camera, or.....??
    No issues with prior v3.2.8

Hmm... So it could be more of a RED firmware thing than a Samurai or Pix thing... Tobias, did you try with 3.2.8 or just .16?
