Working on a few accessory designs for Epic/Scarlet

Missing from this excellent thread are two pieces of information I need : the width of the camera with SSD module attached and the height of the optical center.

Can someone from Red please help me out?

Id be interested to get a true optical Centre figure. For what its worth we think its 98.2mm. We build our own, not for sale riser base plates that have an off set to use with Red one base plates which are 110mm to lens centre so 11.8mm sorts it to put the lens centre of Epic to match Red One lens centre. It assumes of course that all Epics/Scarlet centre of sensors are in the exact same place from the base plate......

Measuring the camera optical center looks like 100mm from the bottom. Contact Red directly.

To the surprise of no one, contacting Red directly didn't help. After being pumped for details of my designs I was told that the requested information "wasn't available nor was any other except what [I could've found myself] in the user manuals."

And this was my most constructive interaction with the Bomb Squad yet. I'm surprised they didn't try to hit me with a restocking fee during the conversation.

So I'm bumping this thread hoping a senior Red Team member will notice it.

Hi Lee, I feel your pain. It was disheartening the times I've called RED for information only to find out they will not give out that information. Of course they are not required to do so by any sort of law or business ethic, so I just continued on my way-- sometimes doing things on my own or paying another professional to do it for me.

Depending on your design I may be able to offer some guidance. I understand you'll probably want to guard your idea, but if there's a way I can help without getting in your way, please contact me at jason@CinemaOxide.com
