Not that this is any help to most of us who have been waiting years for a new Mac Pro but I found this article and thought I'd share.

    Great.

Maybe this time hey won't release a "new" model with processors that intel rolled out in q1 of 2010.

well, you know Apple promotes the "user experience" not so much the "buyer experience"....

Seeing the "New" tag was like Christmas morning when you see a big package under the tree only to open it and find out that it's clothes.

People need to stop holding on to hope and move on. Apple is clearly looking for other revenue and have no interest in the pro market. Broken record, yes. Take FCPX for example, how does that compare to the tower? Well imagine a foot long mac mini with not 1 but 2 ipod docks.

Not for anything we have tried to do with it. Total waste of money. Total garbage for our needs.

maybe I just tried harder. FYI, I use CS6, FCP7 when I have to and still gravitate towards FCPX. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just my experience.

The cost and the time might be too much for the naysayers.
Ultimately it depends on ones workflow.
I love this version and has replaced FCP at my work.
However our main workflow is Avid.

FCPX is awesome in it's own way. My kids love it. I have not encountered a more easy to use NLE that packs that much power into one app. It's all a matter of perspective and most of what people still complain about has been remedied. Sure, it's not the ideal tool for editing R3D or working with footage in resolutions above 1080p, but I think people are too hard on it. Apple is definitely on to something here and they have had a couple good updates to show they're committed to improving it. There are a few features in FCPX that I wish I had in Premiere or Avid... Just sayin...

And that's my current opinion. I bashed FCPX relentlessly when it was first released. Even got my money back from Apple. ...Have since bought it again and have found it to be very useful for certain projects.
