Hi Everyone - I've been out filming our Cheese Rolling at 300 frames - footage seems a bit noisy. Any ideas what I could do, in camera, to reduce this?

At 2k...the sensor is def'n more noisy. You could always do a blackshade to aide in the noise as well as using a program like Neat Video (in post) to make the noise cleaner.

Shooting at ISO320 for 300fps 2K WS produces very clean noise free footage even in the blacks.

like these guys mentioned blackshade... expose for 320 if possible. compression ratio makes a difference. neatvideo in post.

using the 2k crop mode, as opposed to shooting 4k and scaling down will show more pronounced. larger noise patterns in comparison. pro methods reduce noise and regrain for consistency.

if you need a camera that does everything in-camera... red may not be for you, it's made for post-workflows. which is why i happen to like it.

...in any case, it's kind of hard to tell from a web video, but i'm honestly not seeing a whole lot of noise artifacting... some shots just look softer.
