i need a bit of assistance here, i hope its just a tiny thing i'm not doing right.
i have sort of a live concert documentary shoot that took place all in one evening, there is a scratch audio mike on the camera and a recording made on a sound devices 702T from the mixing board.
when i line up a shot thats VERY long to be in sync with the board recording, it stays in sync and does not drift.
my problem however is this:
i select all the shots from the evening in final cut and do "make multiclip sequence" which then places them all on a timeline with the appropriate gaps in between each clip from whenever i stopped and started recording. usually i just sync up one shot with the audio recording and then all the other ones line up as well, but for this everything drifts. for example i take a shot a couple hours later and play the timeline and its totally out of sync by a few seconds. unless i'm doing something wrong it looks like im going to have to manually sync up each clip to the audio (or every few clips). is there an option or a checkbox i'm not clicking when i make my multiclip sequence? the sound devices 702T was recording at 23.98 and 48khz just like i always do which usually syncs right up. and again, when i sync up a long take the entire thing stays in sync with no drift, the problem arises seemingly from final cut not putting the right gaps in between. or maybe it just drifts no matter what unless you are using a lockit box hard wired to the camera or something? would love it if someone helped me troubleshoot this!
