I couldn't find the different formats that RED can shoot on www.red.com so I figured I would ask. I know it does 4k, and I know it does 2k windowed. Does it shoot any other formats full frame? Or will it in future builds? And what is the current max frame rate that is enabled? I know I could do a search for this information, but considering things are changing as new builds come up, I thought I would ask.

    At this second in time........

    She dose 4k up to 25fps to CF card, and 4k 29.97fps to Red-Drive. 2k windowed @ 75fps.

This could be invalid at any second with build 14 around the corner!

    I can't achieve 25fps@4k (2:1 or full)...
The camera give me a "disk error", when I switch back to 23.98, green light...

    Where is my mistake?

    Please, correct my written english.
I'm still learning, and I need your help.
    Thanks in advance.

I believe you have to reformat the card or drive if you change the Project Frame Rate. That might be why you are getting that disk error message. This has nothing to do with any varispeed changes just the Project frame rate. You went from 25fps to 23.98 and from what i've read you have to reformat the card or drive when you do this.

Yes, that could be a reason. Each project must maintain a common timebase. i.e stay at the same Project Frame Rate.

After you have selected that, then you can go on to change record resolution, or select a variable frame rate record speed (VariSpeed, Ramp or TimeLapse) without restriction. But change the Project Frame Rate and you must re-format before you can record as the entire timebase that the camera uses to generate its video output and timecode is changing.

I know it's a dumb question and it may have been answered before, but is it possible to record 2K using the whole sensor?

I may be missing something, but if you can only shoot 2k with the windowed sensor that would mean that there is a big crop on your lens view. and that means that either you go with super wide angle lenses or use S16 mm lenses.

Is there any way to shoot with standard 35mm lenses let's say at 24fps either in 4K or 2K and be able to use the same lenses and get the same frame composition/ focal length?

    I have a question:
I work mainly in Europe (PAL tv 25)
if i start a RED project made for printing on film, my impression is that I should set the Project Frame Rate at 24 because i do not like the idea of the film slowed down when screened,
but what happens to the same editing transfered on HD tape for delivering to TV ? ( I don't mind the slight 4 or 5 % acceleration) Is there a risk of jump frame, saccades visible in certain shots or will it run smoothly ?

As far as I know, you could, but it would require a ridiculous amount of processing power. So probably not on-board, but maybe once you can get the RAW port (or was that discontinued) you will be able to get some recorder that could do that.
