    Hello, I am transcoding to proress 444 and the result is a veru dark and high contrast video, do you know why is this? I am using a 2008 imac, 2,4 hgz intel dual core and 4gb Ram

    What are your metadata settings? Also, have you tried exporting to other codecs and had the same result? Can you post sample images of before/after transcoding?

    It all comes down to your color settings.
    Not a codec you decide to transcode too.
    Check your colour settings.
    Set your color temp (kelvin) To as nuetral white as possible.
    leave Iso on default.
    Default all other color , gamma and curve settings.
    Set color space to Red color 3 and red log film.
    try exporting a test from those setting.
