I got a good deal on the red rocket used so thats why I ended up purchasing it, I love it but I do think I should have waited on purchasing it, was debating whether to resell it or not. However I did just get a Thunderbolt External Chassis for it and my macbook pro, so it might prove useful
I'll give you $500 for the Rocket! ;-)

Trust me, the Red Rocket is the best investment you made. You need it.

You might wana consider losing the side handle/red volts and using red bricks instead with the v mount adapter.... or another v mount battery if it doesn't void the warranty... just a friendly suggestion...

I actually havent purchased side handle and volts yet, been looking to try to find those used to save a few bucks to fit other things. Was just something I know I want. I already have a V-Mount adapter plus V Mount batteries so don't really need side handle, but I like having the option of controls off the monitor and I don't really want a redmote.

There are a lot of accessory options out there. Make sure you look at Action Products, x, etc. We have videos of some stuff on our youtube channel youtube.finnerknowsbest.com or finnerknowsbest.com

For 15mm support I have http://www.berkeysystem.com/store/red-accessories/ and love how versatile it is. Can be configured in so many different ways.

With my GTX 580, and the new Ivy Bridge 3770k, even at standard settings, I rip through 4k footage like nobodies business.

I would recommend, SSD Drive with Programs and Windows on it, GTX580 or higher, and the new Ivy Bridge chips. Along with CS6, it's stupid how well everything handles.

Also, if you have extra money to spend, I would say get the side handle. I like mine, it's a nice grip, but if you want to put it somewhere else, you don't really need the handle. Battery life isn't amazing and they are expensive.
