  1. #1 Test video editingR3D on notebook on Mac i7 versus PC with Premiere CS6
Is it possible to edit natively R3D Red raw files on notebook with Adobe Premiere CS6 ? Yes, you can since Adobe CS5.5. The new CS6 and the power of the new PC notebook with nvidia graphic card make it even more easy.

I am still waiting for my nvidia 675M and I get "only" a 670M. As soon as I shall get the new one, i will make some more tests.

Thanks for the video. To be fair, the two machines aren't really comparable, but the one on the left is clearly more suitable for this particular workload, while the right clearly has its benefits for other usage scenario. GTX 680M is a huge leap forward - over twice the single precision compute performance as GTX 675M. 1344 CUDA cores mean business.

    Thank you Subhadip,

Yes but I waited more than a month for the 675M. I have put a 670M at the moment (so nice !!!). May be I will stay away from the 675 and go directly to the 680M.

Definitely do that, because GTX 675M is a minor upgrade over GTX 670M - something like 15%-20%. Essentially they are rebrands from GTX 570M and GTX 580M.

However, GTX 680M is a massive leap forward using the same chip as GTX 680 on the desktops - we are talking about double the performance of GTX 670M here.

THanks for sharing ace! You have convinced me to go adobe after being a long time (since the inception) final cut pro user. Might as well give it a shot.;)

Yes, but I am not sure to have convinced you to go to Adobe + Windows ;-)

I would have done the same test with the new i7 Macbook 15, but it is just not big enough for me to edit on a 15 " screen. I also leaved FCP and Mac. May be it is not as hard as for you because i worked before FCP on Windows, but I know you are upsidedown with such a move...

You can daisy chain thunderbolt up to 6 devices without affecting the data flow so with 2 thunderbolt ports thats about 12 devices.
