Is the game plan here to give them a package that will run for 40 minutes and shoot for 20, then house them on the real accessories? 225 is terribly low.

225 is undermining the industry.. I don't get that logic at all.

Houseing on accessories or undermining the industry is not out intention. Minimum rental time is 4 days = $900 minimum rental.

The calculus is in the lower end, but within the normal calculus...

    1.5 - 2.5% of value per day.
The price of the Scarlet is a bit lower than the Epic.
But the package is probably a bit disapointing for the custome to be really useworthy. That is more of an issue.
You'd need at least 2x 128 GB on top of the 64 to stay current on a shootingday and 6x redvolts with at least 3 chargers.

The package - as is, is more like a stills package.
And THAT would add to the price and also rentalprice, I guess...

But the calculus for rentals is quite often in the 1,5 - 2,5% of cost + insurance each day.

As there are so many Epics/Scarlets/C300/F3s currently out, you have to adjust for saturation through either service, equipmentkits and backups, total solutions (like not only camera, but all kit around it including DIT solutions) or just pure price.

Not meaning to start a flamewar here, just thinking out loud...

The best thing for a pricehike usually, is competence, and as far as I can see, that is not part of this package.
Life is good. So is RED...

At the beginning of the week we were seeing $250/day, now $225/day. Will we see sub $200/day rentals before the end of the week?

you can do as you want with your camera and rates, but posting it publicly on this site in particular is only going to upset the people who are trying to make a living with these cameras. at that rate, though i would suggest requiring production insurance because the types of productions that would seek out that rate and that package are the most likely to mistreat it.
