You are going to invite people who don't know what they're doing to abuse your gear. You are also not giving them a package that is in any way shootable, so I don't know how happy users will be with your rental.

I think a better strategy would be to advertise a $600-$800/day package that includes proper monitoring, support, media, filtration and power and set yourself up some reliable subrental source to cover the things you don't have.

You can do a lean doc package with a lower 'foot in the door' price, but please make it a shootable package for a realistic rate.

The kit is useless. No matte box/ND's, not enough batteries or media, no support etc. etc. etc. etc. No one worth their salt will rent this.

I don't know? Something makes me want to rent from you and not return it.... And something else makes me wanna raise my fist in the air and say some bad words... All in All, do yourself a favor and build your package first. Odds are your not gonna read this seeing that this is your second post and probably ignoring this thread/site now, cause how laughable the rate/usability the package is. (No offense) But, trying to make a quick buck with a incomplete package affects you, the people renting from you, people with complete packages, and people who spend most if not all of their personal income building their package. 225/day for a 17k camera package that's not usable, affects the whole market whether your camera is worth 30, 40, 50 or 100k+ that are usable. I know I spent over 30k in less then 7 months of my own personal money. No loan, no partner, no parental help, no credit cards, just cold hard cash. And seeing people post rates like this with the most bare bones package, just irritates the hell out of me and makes me not want to dump more money into my camera package. I apologize if you may think this is a attack on you, but you gotta see it from our side and you target market's side

Relax, everyone. It's one camera. Even if the guy rented it every week, it's quickly off the market and you can rent your camera for more.

Every market, not just camera rentals, has the bare bones person.

And for all of you who are thinking "that rental can't possibly be useful", well, I have an Epic-X that I only ever shoot in my garage/studio, with AC power, no matte box, rails or batteries, and just a single 128GB card (although I used to have two).

Because I use my Epic-X for 3D facial capture.

In short: not every Red camera needs to be rigged with everything you could ever need for a live shoot. There are many ways to use an Epic/Scarlet.

P.s. I'd love to find some local (Los Angeles) Epic owners who want to rent their bodies w/ AC power and a Canon mount for $750/day.

Erich said it best, I am renting just such a kit this weekend. Since I already have a Scarlet and lots of extra media, batteries, and glass, all I need is the "Box," so I'm sure there are plenty of people that would snatch up that kind of deal.
