  1. #1 Mono Zoom H4N .WAV not accepted by Redcine Pro
I'd like to manually sync a mono Zoom H4N WAV to R3D's in Redcine Pro, but when I select "External Audio File" and hit, "ok", nothing happens. I tried importing a stereo pair from a different device from a different shoot, and it opens without issues. Is anyone experience this?

You have to process the files in FCP or CS6 into 48kHz 16/24 bit .wave files, then try them in RedcineX Pro.

i have a zoom, haven't tried importing its audio into redcine, but if your on windows i would recommend foobar2000 as a nice free batch convertor of audio files/ formats.. quicker than opening up premiere/fcp etc anyhow

off topic a little,.. I also always backup my zoom wavs into lossless FLAC format with foobar2000, which seems to beat any other lossless audio codec I've tried, which seems surprising to me after so long especially since the creator of FLAC said he optimized it to be hardware friendly, and for speed, rather than maximum compression..anyway, i've free'd up a lot of disk space with flac files over the years, shame flac doesn't support 32-bit IEEE samples..but perfect for zoomy files ;)

Processing it did the trick. Shiblon, do you know if setting the Zoom to 48 16/24 will allow files to be accepted in Redcine?

The Zoom doesn't create a file that is fully compatible with RedcineX, lack of meta data and time code, and RedcineX is optimized for 48/48.8 kHz 24 bit .wave or .bwf files. Anything else doesn't load or won't sync up correctly.
