Well then how about 1080p? This is the thing, if its possible on a camera with lower processing power, surely its possible with a scarlet...

Apparently 1k WS is the largest frame Scarlet can process @120 FPS. It is also somewhat apparent that 1080 is verboten @Red. :-)

But your missing the burst mode thing here. 1k WS is the fastest at "no limit recording", but what about at burst mode. Im sure we can bump up the fps then. Your forgetting that 2k HD is 1080p

2k HD is 1920 x 1080 but Red won't call it 1080... hence the verboten, but I take your point. You say you are certain that Scarlet is capable of handling a 2kHD frame @120 fps in a limited burst. Upon what facts do you base your certainty?

Im not certain, but i dont think it wouldn't be that hard. Like i said, other cameras can do it, they have less processing power. To get around that limitation, they have a burst mode. If the scarlet is superior, why cant it do the "simpler" things?

You are missing the point that RAW 2kHD is not the same as 1080 in other codecs.

Well maybe, but the data rate could be lowered to fix that.

The burst mode has been proposed by RED before with the 2/3 scarlet

I guess the burst mode is possible if sensor heat is the bottleneck, but maybe the proccessing is the bottleneck in the 35mm scarlet
(I have nothing to back this statement up :-) )
