    I wouldn't intend to use this very heavily, but ... does this sound workable for every-now-and-then use?

    As a monpod maybe - but not as a stabilizer, IMO.

    Just too much weight on your hand/wrist/arm with a Scarlet on this... and getting dynamic balance... well, you'll basically end up with a swinging pendulum and not a steadicam - the gimbal doesn't look sophisticated (look at the amount of sway on the shots - always a giveaway for low cost solutions).

    I really don't think you will be happy even if you were to get a RED on there. You most definitely would want a stabilizer with a vest and arm.
