  1. #1 Premiere CS6 - replacing proxy references with r3d files on the timeline or project
    Folks,

We've had to go back and make some changes to some older projects that used RED footage. The original projects were cut in FCP and used the proxies. We've now imported an xml from that project into Premiere 6, and of course, all the proxies are appearing in the project. We want to replace all these with the r3D originals since CS6 is now able to edit native r3d files pretty darn sweetly. There are over a hundred clips to replace.. is there a quick way to do this?

    Thanks in advance..

    Adrian

as long as they all have the same names you could do it pretty easily. Just change the name of the master folder for your proxies to something else. I usually do u(existing name) so you still have the file name but now it has a u at the front for "unlinked"

then when premiere asks you to locate media direct it to the .r3d files

Not sure I understand, Peter. The filenames are the same, except for the "_p" or "_M" appended on the end for the proxies, and they're in the same folder as the R3D file, as per RED's file structure. The proxies arent in a folder of their own...
