I shot a little 5K Model portfolio with Chanel on my Epic last week. All available light, footage slightly graded with Adobe SpeedGrade, really starting to like the workflow and intuitive/ easy interface of this program.

Well, that camera really can handle strong highlights. Of course I knew that a long while ago but all I'd need to be convinced of that is the shot at 4:32.

You probably aren't looking for critique but... well it's the Internet. :-P And I acknowledge that this was a personal shoot so you didn't bother with too many refinements. I think the hand-held approach did not work. Composition was not quite as ideal as I'd have liked. The light was okay but not beautiful - what time of day was this? Some of the highlights on Chanel's skin were not properly brought down, giving the image a harsh look. Most of the shots went for too long. But my biggest problem, really, is the music. I'm not a fan of people putting music over videos (so I just muted the sound). Perhaps a mix of sound from the location would have been more interesting.

Always happy to hear criticism as long as its constructive and justified. I totally agree with you on the music...it was the girls choice and she really wanted those tracks. i would have gone with an ambient track as well.

this was probably around 3:30 in the afternoon, so quite harsh late arvo queensland sunlight. agreed on the handheld, but i couldn't get a hold of a tripod that day :/ Im actually shooting a portfolio next week with a slider and tripod, so that will be a huge improvement.

true about the take durations too, might play around with more speed ramping and realtime footage the next time.

id love to record location sound but as these are all one person shoots...are there any advancements with the epic and those little scratch sound microphones people were talking about ?

m actually shooting a portfolio next week with a slider and tripod, so that will be a huge improvement.
