I'm trying to collect opinions on the weight capacity of my Ronford-Baker heavy duty mitchell tripod. I want to rent an Intel-a-jib with Intel-a-head, and it may be up to 350 lbs for my EPIC package and weights and everything. I've gotten three opinions so far, and I want to see if anyone here has real experience with this.
Wooden Nickel normally rents this jib with either these sticks or O'Connor. They said leave the sticks at bottom floor and you should be fine.
Ronford-Baker rep told me the sticks are rated for 200 lbs, but it "might" work.
Mark at Porta-Jib told me it should be fine, even extending the legs.
The guys at my local rental house normally send it out with the O'Connor sticks and say not to extend them more than halfway.
Has anyone ever overloaded and broken a heavy duty tripod? I'd like to hear about it!
