Only the pro will fit the rocket.

I guess there are three options:

    1) ExpressBox 3T - $979
    2) Sonnet Echo Express Pro: $799
    3) mLink R - $799

What are peoples preferences? The Magma seems the most robust but also the largest. mLink is small but only one slot. Sonnet looks like a nice balance of both.

Being this is the first time mLogic has made such a product, I'm not sure how reliable the enclosure is. Anyone else feel the same way?

True, but at least Sonnet and Magma have experience with PCI interfaces.

Apparently it has been showing up as both in different systems, although the reported performance is equal.

just posted on the other thread but I'll post here as well, got rocket to show up at 8x, just had to swap slot position.

magma is best bang for the buck IMHO. you get the extra slot for a smaller price increase, and can have your cards work at full 8x, or at least show up as that so the software knows it's working at its best. plus magma has had much more of a history with pci expansion while sonnet has only experience with interface cards, and sonnet can be 50/50 with driver support. some products run great, some products have a lot of issues. QIO took a very long time before it got stable. but the echo express pro seems like it's working very well from other user reviews. and the echo is shipping production models now, magma isn't because they are still fine tuning a lot of hardware and drivers.

as for the mlink... all i have to say is, it's made out of plastic and it's really not THAT much cheaper than the competition. just my 2 cents.
