I too had this problem on a rented scarlet, but pulling the cable and reconnecting it worked for us.
Don't worry Wil - I have a ton of trouble pulling those things out too. Especially the power connector cable. Hope it's because they're well machined, not because we are weak!
Say anyone install the new firmware yet? Did it fix this issue of the b/w screen? I'm guessing it did but I won't be able to install the new version till later.
Update with the 3.2.19, it fixes everything. And there is the new 3.3.3 firmware too with playback enabilng, (but it's beta, I got a lot of problems and rolled back to the 19..)
