  1. #1 DaVinci 8.2.1 b3 crashing on importing fcp-x xml
    Hi there,

    I'm having a problem importing fcp-x xml into Resolve lite. As soon as I select the xml file it crashes. Okay, my 8-core tower is late 2007 - is it my computer or is this a known problem?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Ziggy, your 2007 computer does not have the processing power needed. If you can pick up a MacPro5,1 8Core MacPro or newer with ATI Radeon HD 5770 and add in another GPU for processing this will be suitable for Resolve v9 as you need to use Lion or Mountain Lion and 64bit OS for v9. Make sure you have at least 8GB ram and preferable double that.
    Please refer to our Resolve configuration guide that you can find here.

    Aah! Running 10.7.4. I do have an HD5770 installed & 9GB ram. I know I can't work in real time but I would have thought the xml would at least load - I can import fcp-x xml into 8.2 but that won't deal with compound clips. So I'm still left wondering why it crashes?

    The crash log says this:
    0 com.blackmagic-design.davinci.Resolve 0x00b67170 LsCmdWipingAction::~LsCmdWipingAction() + 2304
    1 com.blackmagic-design.davinci.Resolve 0x00b68fe5 LsCmdWipingAction::~LsCmdWipingAction() + 10101
    2 com.blackmagic-design.davinci.Resolve 0x013986d5 std::vector<std::string, std::allocator<std::string> >::_M_insert_aux(__gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<std: :string*, std::vector<std::string, std::allocator<std::string> > >, std::string const&) + 4517
    3 libsystem_c.dylib 0x96707ed9 _pthread_start + 335
    4 libsystem_c.dylib 0x9670b6de thread_start + 34

    Best Wishes

    *** EDIT ****
    In case anyone else is having a problem - there is a new 8.2.1 installer that was released on Friday - this fixes it. Thanks to Dwaine at DaVinci support!
