  1. #1 alternative to PRO-IO module
is there any alternative to the Pro - IO module? Any way of getting more video outs, genlock, a few XLRs etc' without so much additional madness/cost?

Check out Innocinema's Electra modules. Pretty much the same stuff for the same price, just different form factor (no XLRs though).

indeed, i really like the innocinema products:

this one gives you a better located bnc, timed code, genlock and sync as bn connector:
    http://eu.innocinema.com/product_inf...roducts_id=158

    and combined with this one:
    http://eu.innocinema.com/product_inf...roducts_id=155 and this one: http://eu.innocinema.com/product_inf...roducts_id=156

you get 15mm lws bars, and 2 xlrs ports, plus the riser for 19" bars.

These items actually never leave my red, there absolute a part of it, and with this i don't really need the pro io.

And Action Products is actually the only third party constructor who understood the meaning of Dsmc.

they will be offering Wireless video module in the near future too.

Innocinema's/Action Products' stuff is great... but the cost is definitely top shelf. x provides some break-outs that are cheaper, and the SpaceCam stuff that was previously mentioned also looks interesting. I have the Action Products base with audio XLR's, and I'm thinking about adding the x breakout for TC, genlock, etc.

I wish someone made a cost-effective power distribution solution; once the +1 module comes out in December, it would be great to be able to feed that auxiliary power into something that provides multiple DTAP and USB power outputs.

Hardly the same. No extra EVF or extra dedicated HD-SDI, imo the main reason for buying the I/O module.

I agree 100% also isn't there something about this and another module equaling wireless focus or something?

I have the Innocinema Proteus & Electra Modules and they are all i will ever need.......
They keep the whole package compact and light weight, now that the HDSDI & the HDMI work simultainously i have all the outputs i need.
I don't use the 5" touch screen its useless to me, its just another tool/option to access the cameras menu system & thats it, as a VF/screen for everyday work its average to say the least .......i prefer the REDMOTE & EVF
So i run the Bomb as my viewing, a Small HD 5.6" for Assist out of the HDMI (it will be the new Small OLED 7" when it arrives).......and i have the HDSDI for client/split monitor or the IDX Wevi wireless.
Everything i need is covered.....! one tiny package that works for me very well in most situations.........!!

Now that the HDSDI & the HDMI work simultaneously so just get HDMI Splitter.
