    Hi,

Doing the standard offline to online workflow and wanted to know which program would be faster for doing the transcodes, Red Cine X pro or Log and Transfer within Final Cut Pro 7?

Footage is 4k from RED ONE

I would also be interested to know which option is less hassle when I need to go back to the original media files for color grading, there seems to be a number of people having issues relinking using the Red Cine X workflow. I know with Log and transfer, you can only make 2k files, instead of 1080p or 720p but since I'm just using that just for the offline does it even matter?

I'd say redcine-x will be faster as you can use multiple cores by using redline. It's not a very well publicized feature but does speed things up.
Da Vinci lite is also pretty fast and may work better for going back to color correction.
There's a new apple white paper on a workflow for fcp and davinci. I'll see if I can find the link.
