I wonder if these are the discs Red are planning to use in Red Drives?

    Cheers,

It looks interesting but surely red would have to know in advance whatever disc they intend to use works extremely well. It must be really difficult for red to run with any particular storage system set up knowing as they do that one month...two months down the line something better has just appeared.

Given that they will have the completed red one possibly ready for NAB would suggest they have had to pick what is best at a pre-detrmined point and go with it from there on in.

I love the way red are so creative, innovative and always on the look out for the best products to suit their red one. What is likely to make red one so brilliant is the possibility that whatever product they use the camera will be designed in a way that will allow changes to take place without having to replace the camera.

I also find it so massively reassuring that the camera is so over-engineered. As jim Jannard ha said "it is built like a tank" How i love these guys when i hear comments like that. mind you i do wish he had said it was built like a submarine, then i would not need to worry if i repeat my error as with the last camera and drop it into loch lomond!
