    If I use Premiere CS6 with Cineform 3d studio to work on my 3d project, can I still use Warp stabilizer with the footage ( that is in Cineforms 3d format ) ?
    How 'confined' is that workflow to only using Cineform provided plugins is really my basic question ?
    How about calling After effects from Premeire to do something on a clip, does it work in 3d as well ?

    I can't specifically answer the warp stabilizer question as my workflow is different, all my work is with locked off shots, any stabilisation I do (get rid of vibration) is done prior to conversion and muxing of the cineform files.
    You can do whatever you want to do with cineform, you just need to work out a workflow that works for the particular result you are after.
    For example- secondary colour correction works well in premiere as the selection is based upon a colour range. Compositing 2D objects in premiere works well with the cineform parallax filter applied, you must adjust the depth by viewing on external monitor as you can't do it in anaglyph preview mode, you sort of can but it ain't ideal.
    For any complex compositing I turn to after effects, but I don't work with the 3D muxed files, I find it easier to work with the L and R files individually, create a L comp and a R comp and a 3rd comp to preview the results, I also generally create sliders in the 3rd comp that are linked via expressions to the L and R comps.
    On occasion I'll use the stereo camera rig in AE and I also use the Chris Keller scripts.
    The fact that cineform supports an alpha chanel (full version only) is awesome.

    Mark,
    What I'm getting at with my question is if CS6 is limited in it's full functionality when using the Cineform L/R muxed media ?
    For example, can I dynamically call After Effects on a clip from Premiere and get something done there, say a stabilize or a mesh warp, having it work just like a 'normal' 2D Premeire CS6 project ?
    I'm suspecting that this is not possible, but want to verify.

    That is correct because of the way the programs interpret the 3D file. The mesh warp in particular would yield varying results depending on what setting is chosen in the cineform 3D file display options. The programs are not "smart" enough to realise that essentially the filter needs to be applied to both L and R in the manner in which is intended. Scaling of the files also should be done in Firstlight and not Premiere.
