I've definitely done this a few times. If you're not looking and just reaching around it can be pretty easy to jam a plug into the fans. I wish there was a better grill on the front.

I've thought the same thing the first day I saw the Epic/Scarlet, Since getting my Scarlet I've made sure to look before I leap. You could also check out Fortis Cinemas approach to xs A-Box. They have a similar but cheaper setup.

    Cheers,

    Mr. Norris.

Much better is the Action Products baseplate and XLR combo which moves the mics to the back of the camera and gives you full size XLRs.One of the best pieces of equipment I have bought.

Lol, well I have one. It's the A-Box plugs I'm jamming into the fan grill.

I went ahead and ordered from fortis. Works efficiently and keeps my cables plugged in and out of the way! I have not used xs products for my personal use, but the fortis plates work just great on my EPIC!

ha ha - me, too. especially when standing on top of a ladder with camera on a high hat and you can't see the front of the camera and are trying to plug the minis in blindly reaching around.
you hear the rat tat tat fan hitting the mini and get a little jolt of vibration in your hand.
was glad not to damage the fan with that.
