RED CINE-X PRO 14 Painfully slow

I know similar threads have beaten this issue to death. I searched. I'm on a 12 core mac pro with an nvidia GTX 580, now… with no other effects turned on (i.e. Alchemy) why on earth does it take an hour to render out a 1 min 20 second clip to 4k apple pro res. Does RED do this so that people are more inclined to buy a RED Rocket?

I suppose a work around would be to bring an r3d into Adobe Premiere CS6 and do my simple color pass in that, then export out a 4k pro res file from there. BTW, for that same 1 min 20 second clip, it takes Premiere 6 minutes to spit out.

Obviously, given the above info the common sense answer is "just use premiere, then" but seriously? What gives, RED CINE-X?

Ofcourse not!

Can you give more details about your export? Output res, scale, debayer, crop? If you send verbose logs (just zip up your logs folder) to redcinex at red we can try and determine what the bottleneck might be.

I have a GTX 580 and RED CINE X PRO is much slower than expected for me as well. Windows though. Could the problem be the video card? I remember a few months ago the card didn't work at all with RCX-PRO.
