Goodness, I am just 10 minutes to late to talk about how I could watch Astronaut Farmer all day just to see David Mullens constant sunset lighting... Man, to be totally serious, when I think of a beautifully lit film I think of that and Wally Pfister's, when it comes to bouncing light...

Oh hey David... didn't see you there ;-)

There are too many brilliant DP's who have been is hours of wars, lost wives, lives, and time for this to be a fair and just question. Lots of great DP's out there young and old these days, or rather younger.

Children of Men really put Emmanuel Lubezki on my radar back in '06. Incredible camera work and style. It's one of those films you have to watch over and over again just to spot his nuances.

Truth be told I haven't seen Tree of Life so I didn't judge him on his new work, but from what I've heard is that he should've won the Oscar last year, although Hugo was fantastically imaged.

I've always loved Slocombe's effort in the Indiana Jones series.

DPs like Toll and Hall go without saying.

EDIT: Lubezki is also a big favorite of mine.
