I just wanted to write a quick post about the amazing customer service I received from insuremyequipment.com (and One Beacon Insurance who the company uses).

I got a backpack full of red gear stolen, and reported the theft on the day it happened, and a week later, they've already mailed out a check for the amount lost (minus my deductible). Hardly had to even speak to them... I sent an email with the list of equipment stolen and the estimated value of each item, they had me fill out a one page form about the claim, and then they issued my reimbursement check.

Anyone get similar results from insuremyequipment or another equipment insurance company?

That's how it should be! Glad they worked to get your loss covered quickly, man. I have yet to make a claim with my insurance company, but I trust that they'll be reliable and prompt in handling the situation should I ever have something happen.

    Thanks Daniel-
Checked them out based on your note - rates seem great.

I've used film emporium and insuremyequipment (Honestly I think they both use OneBeacon). Never had to make a claim, but their customer service was outstanding and incredibly helpful during the whole process of obtaining the insurance, and I would assume they'd be the same with a claim. Glad to hear something good came out of losing your gear.

When you do, can you pass on their phone number? I have a couple of questions, but can't seem to find a way to get in touch. I tried the only email address on the site, but didn't get a response. As a general rule I don't normally do business with companies that make it hard for you speak to them, but I had been considering making an exception based on the glowing feedback...

Paul, I felt the same way at first (not seeing any phone number, and finding it somewhat hard to get in touch), but as soon as I contacted claims, they were very responsive via email, and then when my claim was passed on to the insurance company (One Beacon), they called me right away and it was very easy to call the guy back and speak to him about my claim whenever I had any questions. Don't let the lack of a phone number turn you off to them.

They've been very good to me in terms of communication, setting things up, and dealing with last minute requests before jobs. No equipment claims yet, but otherwise pleased.
