I posted this question in another thread, but it may be better in a topic of it's own.

I have the upgraded OLED Evf. Looks good in good exposure settings. But we are now shooting a short in lowlight conditions. Little bit of underexposure, but the photographer wants it that way. But the EVF is showing some heavy banding in the shadows, just before the black cuts to total black. I think it's kinda blueish, the tone-banding that comes right before it cuts to total black. I can easily create this effect, by holding my hand in front of the lens, and then opening a little hole through by releasing my fingers (in defocus). We have tried connecting the LCD and external SDI recorder, and both of the look much brighter. with a smoother gradiation to black, more like 1st generation Bomb EVF, but with more contrast. So signal is ok, on the brink to underexposure, but not at all critical.

As I said, the BOMB does perform excellently outdoors and in well lit scenes.

Is this normal behaviour? Anyone else noticing this?

PS. Running with RG3 and RC3. Have not tried with the LOG yet. But as my LCD and external recorder show a good signal, this should not be the issue.

Does this occur when viewing in Raw mode?

Here's an example on how the shadows look. This is not a picture taken of the viewfinder, but just a random picture, that I've tweaked in Photoshop to resemble what I´m seeing in the viewfinder. I worked the curves in the shadow heavily to get this banding effect in the shadows. The picture is through a fence in a church, with a person in the foreground. Notice also the posterizing effect in the left vertifcal bar.As I said, the weird thing is, I´m not seeing any problems, when shooting in more even lit scenes.

What I would expect of the viewfinder, would be something like this:

Let's resurrect this. I have the same problem and I'm about to buy the OLED. Anyone at Red, can you chime in and tell us if this will be approached?
