Shut Up and Play the Hits

Don't know if anyone is an LCD Soundsystem fan here, but tonight was the one and only showing of the new documentary, Shut Up and Play the Hits, in the US and boy was it spectacular. I'm starting to realize that the documentary genre is getting rapidly sophisticated and beautiful. I'm not sure if it was shot on RED, but it looked extraordinary (might've been alexa since I swear there were at least 20 of them within the footage shown).

I would tell you all to watch it, but I'm afraid tonight was the only night.

Is there going to be a Blu Ray release? I would love to catch it. LCD Soundsystem is a great band. All My Friends is in my top 20 songs ever made.

Lol, funny that you mentioned that. In the theatre where I watched the film, the film was literally projected on a Blu Ray player. We could see the guy literally taking the disk out of the cover and popping it into the tray. This had been the first time I've ever seen a theatre just pop in a disc and play the film. This was a Rave movie theatre mind you, a very popular A list movie theatre chain and they were playing a film on a blue ray player. I just couldn't believe it. It looked very nice though. So to answer your question, yes, I think there is going to be a Blu Ray release as I have seen the living proof.

It looked to be shot with more traditional ENG cameras and there was also a who lot of 5D footage. Brilliant though. Great time.

Talk about late to the party, I just now have purchased some of their music and love it. Weird to get turned on to a band just after they have retired.
