    … is puzzling to me.

I have great respect for the achievements of the DPs and directors in Zacutos jury. But why do this people compare 1080p cameras with a 5K Epic? It seams to me that they never seen a 4K-monitor live which would be definitly the next generation of monitors build on the new OLED technology. I believe that 1080p will become obsolete in any professional environment when the new technology comes on a reasonable price. And this would happen in the next few month.

This post is for those who have a 27 "Apple Cinema Display and can watch a resolution of 2560x1440.
I created some clips in Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) just to see EPIC footage in "merely" 2.5K resolution. Even this difference is significant to 1080p.

I used the EPIC-X wit Canon EF 24-70mm 1:2.8L USM and a Canon EF 16-35mm 1:2.8L USM lens.

Stop it already. Its such an old and boring conversation!

Resolution its only a fraction of digital imaging as a whole, if the Epic kicks ass, it will kick ass at 5k, 2k or 1080p.

On the other hand, if you have invested all your credit on an Epic and now comming to realize that its not actually the best camera in town, and that 5K will not give you any headway to anything at all, then, my condolences. But please don't try to dumb down this forum anymore with this kind of conversation again.
